Valentine's Heart Pie

Here’s a fun and straightforward Valentine’s Day recipe that you can make with minimal effort:

Ingredients:

  • For the Pie:

    • 1 cup of water
    • 1 packet (3 ounces) strawberry flavored gelatin
    • 2 cups of vanilla ice cream
    • Milk chocolate kisses or buttons (for decoration)
  • For the Pie Shell:

    • 1 1/2 cups of chocolate cookie crumbs
    • 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar
    • 1/4 cup of butter, softened

Preparation Instructions:

For the Pie Shell:

  1. Mix the chocolate cookie crumbs, sugar, and softened butter until thoroughly blended.
  2. Press the mixture evenly into a 9-inch pie pan.
  3. Bake at 375°F for 8 minutes or until fully cooked.
  4. Allow the pie shell to cool.

For the Pie:

  1. Stir the water and gelatin in a 4-cup glass measuring cup. Microwave uncovered on full power for 2 minutes.
  2. Add the vanilla ice cream to the hot gelatin mixture and stir until the ice cream is completely melted.
  3. Chill the mixture for 30-35 minutes, stirring twice during chilling, until it thickens enough to fall in mounds from a spoon.
  4. Pour the chilled ice cream mixture into the cooled pie shell and chill for about 4 hours or until the ice cream is completely set.
  5. Arrange milk chocolate kisses or buttons in a heart shape on top of the pie for decoration.
