Hearts filled with Love Cookies

Here’s a fun and straightforward Valentine’s Day recipe that you can make with minimal effort:
Ingredients
For the Dough:
Dry Ingredients:
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients:
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 well-beaten egg
- 2 tablespoons Pet Milk
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
For Assembly:
- Raspberry or strawberry jelly
- 4X Confectioner’s Sugar (for sprinkling)
Instructions
Sift Together:
- In a bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Cream Together:
- In another bowl, cream the shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.
Stir In:
- Add the well-beaten egg, Pet Milk, and vanilla to the creamed mixture and stir until combined.
Chill:
- Chill the dough overnight before using.
Roll and Cut:
- Roll out the chilled dough and cut with a heart-shaped cookie cutter. Each cookie will need a top and a bottom.
Bake:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and bake the cookies for 8-10 minutes or until lightly golden.
Assemble Cookies:
- Once the cookies are cool, place a teaspoon of jelly on the bottom of one cookie and cover it with another cookie (with the tops facing outward).
Finish:
- Sprinkle the assembled cookies with 4X Confectioner’s Sugar before serving.
