Bittersweet Chocolate Truffles

Here’s a fun and straightforward Valentine’s Day recipe that you can make with minimal effort:
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup heavy cream
- 4 ounces bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder (for rolling)
Instructions
Heat the Cream:
- In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it is almost boiling. Do not let it boil.
Make the Ganache:
- Place the finely chopped bittersweet chocolate in a medium bowl.
- Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and let it sit for a minute to soften it.
- Whisk gently until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth. At this point, you have a simple ganache.
Cool the Ganache:
- Allow the ganache to cool at room temperature until it hardens enough to be manipulated. This may take a couple of hours.
Form the Truffles:
- Once the ganache is solid, use a small scoop to scoop portions and roll them into 1-inch balls.
Roll in Cocoa:
- Roll each truffle in cocoa powder until fully coated.
Yield
- This recipe makes about 24 truffles or approximately 2/3 cup of ganache.
These treats are easy to make, a fun activity for kids, and a delightful treat for your Valentine’s Day celebration! Enjoy!
