Chicken Casserole

Ingredients
- 5-6 medium-sized chicken breasts, cooked, cooled, and deboned
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 can of cream of chicken soup
- 8 oz. sour cream
- 1 stick butter or margarine
- 1 1/2 stacks Ritz crackers
- Chicken broth (to thin the mixture)
Instructions
-
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
-
Prepare Chicken: Cut the cooked and deboned chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces and place them in a 9 x 13-inch casserole dish—season with salt and pepper to taste.
-
Mix Sauce: In a separate bowl, combine the cream of chicken soup and sour cream. Add enough chicken broth to thin the mixture to your desired consistency.
-
Combine: Pour the soup and sour cream mixture over the chicken pieces in the casserole dish, ensuring the chicken is well coated.
-
Prepare Topping: Melt the butter or margarine in a small bowl. Crush the Ritz crackers and mix them with the melted butter until well combined.
-
Top Casserole: Sprinkle the crushed Ritz crackers evenly over the top of the casserole.
-
Bake: Bake in the oven for approximately 30 minutes, or until the casserole is heated through and the topping is golden brown.
Serving
- Serve hot as a comforting main dish.
